The NRA pistol lineup covers everything from 50-foot slow-fire practice to 50-yard law enforcement qualification. The targets share a familiar format — black bull, buff paper, official scoring rings — but the differences in size, distance, and scoring standard matter. Order the wrong one and you’re either training to the wrong spec or can’t use the target for official scoring.

The B-2 is the standard NRA slow-fire pistol target for 50-foot indoor ranges. A single 3 1/16″ black bull with scoring rings from 7 through X, printed on a 10½” × 12″ sheet. It’s the workhorse of indoor pistol training — simple, properly sized for 50-foot work, and inexpensive enough to use in volume.
If you shoot at an indoor range with a standard 50-foot lane and you’re working on fundamentals or slow-fire strings, this is your target.

If your club runs NRA conventional pistol matches at 50 feet across all three stages — slow, timed, and rapid — you’ll need both the B-2 and the B-3.

The B-8(P) is the designated NRA target for 25-yard timed and rapid-fire pistol events. It features a 5½” black bull with official NRA scoring rings (9, 10, and X), printed on a 21″ × 24″ sheet — large enough for clear visibility at 25 yards while maintaining precise scoring zones.
This is the target you’ll see at NRA sanctioned pistol matches for the 25-yard timed and rapid stages. If you’re preparing for NRA competition or running a club match to official spec, this is the one.

The TQ-15 is the NRA’s standard law enforcement qualification silhouette for 25-yard courses. It features a full human silhouette with defined scoring zones — the format used in NRA Police Pistol Combat and state-level law enforcement certification programs.
If you’re running qualification drills for a department, academy, or NRA instructor certification course at 25 yards, this is the correct target.

The B-27 is probably the most recognizable pistol silhouette in American shooting. It’s been the standard for law enforcement qualification and tactical pistol training for decades. But there are three versions — and the differences matter.
The B-27(24″) is the full-size official version: 24″ × 45″, with scoring rings 7 through X and a complete human silhouette. It’s the target specified for NRA and many state-level law enforcement qualification courses at 50 yards, and the format used in tactical pistol training programs nationwide.
If compliance with official qualification standards is required — for departmental certification, NRA instructor courses, or agency procurement — this is the one to order.

Scoring: Rings 7–X

The B-27E keeps all the scoring rings (7 through X) but trims the lower portion of the silhouette below the 7-ring. The result is a slightly smaller sheet that uses less paper — and costs less per sheet — while maintaining full scoring fidelity.
For high-volume training, club drills, or any situation where you need the B-27 scoring layout but aren’t running an official qualification that mandates the full-size format, the B-27E is the practical choice. It’s available in multiple colors (black, blue, green, orange) for varying visibility needs.

The B-27C strips the silhouette down to just the scoring center — the ring zone without the full figure. It’s a smaller, more economical sheet used as an overlay on existing backers or for focused center-mass accuracy work where the full silhouette context isn’t needed.

Both targets use identical scoring rings. A score on a B-27E is evaluated the same way as on a full B-27.
Beyond the B-27 family, several specialized qualification targets are used by specific agencies and organizations. The IALEFIQP is the official qualification target of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI) — used in both pistol and rifle qualification courses. The ICEQT is the target specified for ICE firearms qualification.
